The American Federation of Spiritualist Churches is a religious organization serving as the parent body for Spiritualist Churches and which also provides the educational system for its ministry leading to: Certified Medium, Commissioned Healer, and Ordained Minister of Spiritualism. All educational courses must be achieved in order to be ordained in the Spiritualist Ministry.

   Spiritualism is a religious and spiritual belief which blends ancient wisdom and contemporary thought. References to Spiritualism have been found for centuries in religious literary and historic writings. The understanding that life continues after death and that communication is possible between the Spirit Realm and the Physical World is a belief of Spiritualism.

    All Spiritualists recognize God as the Universal Source, the Infinite Spirit. We believe that each of us is an integral part of the God Power. Spiritualism does not embrace the concept of vicarious atonement (that another atones for one's transgressions). Spiritualists believe in personal responsibility.

   Spiritualists believe that the doorway to reformation is never closed to any human soul here or hereafter. We believe that following death all souls continue to evolve under the natural laws of our Creator.

   Believing that errors are human made, we realize that souls entering the Spirit World who have lived negative lives must cleanse their consciousness before they can experience the peace and beauty of the spiritual environment. Spiritual guidance is always available for those who seek to release their negative experiences.
